Life on the Farm

Life on the farm is an adventure.  It's busy, it's overwhelming, it's business, it's our life.  I try to always be available for my customers, so they can call, text or email me at any time.  I never leave my job.  I can't leave my work & come back tomorrow.  I am always thinking of ways to be more productive, take care of my family, take care of my customers, new projects for the farm, things to incorporate for our local schools and communities.  I also have to watch our bottom line.  The farm is always running through my mind.  I wouldn't trade it for the world though!  ;-)

Yes, my husband works off the farm, on a university's farm, but it's only two miles from our farm.  I stay on the farm, take care of the kiddos, run them everywhere they need to go, work on my school work & work on the farm.  I'm always coming up with new ideas for My Farmer to tackle.  He's always so willing to listen to my ideas (even though I have NO clue how it's going to work out) and make everything work seamlessly!

I can't imagine not raising our children on the farm.  To be honest, sometimes, you wonder if you are doing the right thing as a parent.  My kids help out with work on the farm.  It's encouraged that you help out, as a family, but never forced.  They actually enjoy going out as a family to cut firewood, check cows, move cows, fix fence and run around while we work.  On the other hand, there are late nights, times we don't see My Farmer till very late.  There are times when I need to be working on the farm and the kids tag along, running around in the fields & woods while I help My Farmer.  Yet, those nights when we take a long walk, have a bonfire, or a picnic, make it all worth it.

Life on the farm is an adventure, every single day.  Life on the farm is hard, but completely worth every moment.  Here are some pictures of our little piece of heaven.
